BIKE TECH IN SCHOOL

 

OVERVIEW

Think of PBT as the umbrella organization that fosters bicycle education, enhances lives and builds communities. Under that umbrella is Bike Tech in School, the classroom where it all gets rolling.Bike Tech in School teaches students the necessary skills to work as a professional bicycle mechanic and provides a stepping stone to a multitude of cycling industry careers including engineering, fabrication, marketing, filmmaking, graphic art, sales and writing for publications.

CLASSROOMS

Today’s educational system is thirsting for programs that are technical, experiential and trade-based. Bike Tech in School uses those hands-on techniques to teach CORE and STEM classes and introduce students to career pathways. Using the bicycle as a platform, students study math, geometry, physics, history, the environment, city planning, life skills and more.

 

SAMPLE CERTIFICATE

Students can earn a PBT Certificate as an entry level bike mechanic/assembler endorsed by members of the bicycle industry.

As the student enters the bike industry, employers know the training is standardized and supported by the cycling industry.
