Bicycle Friendly Communities
INTRODUCING PROJECT BIKE TECH
Project Bike Tech is a national nonprofit organization that supports STEAM and CTE education by delivering turnkey instructional solutions for High Schools. Our curriculum promotes hands-on learning, with the bicycle serving as the laboratory for experimentation, and with the classroom as the forum for critical thinking. PBT graduates find their path forward to post-secondary education and new career opportunities that build sustainable communities.
Each Project Bike Tech classroom includes student workstations stocked with a complete range of tools, a workbench, bikes, and workshop supplies. Our curriculum is developed with and endorsed by industry leaders and has been approved for college credit in some states. Our Level 1 and 2 curricula include experiential learning opportunities that teach students mechanical concepts, problem solving, and preparation students for real-world professional work. Our Programs also introduce youth to the lifelong health benefits of a bicycling lifestyle.
Since beginning in 2007 in Santa Cruz, CA, we have grown to a national scale with over 40 schools in 13 states.
We are absolutely honored to be included as a resource on this year’s Bicycle Friendly Communities application. If there is not a PBT school near you yet, we would love to hear from you and discuss how to get a school started in your community.

Reach out to Project Bike Tech at info@projectbiketech.org and let us know about your community.

A very meaningful way to work with us is to provide a referral or introduction to a high school in your community.
We are constantly seeking to meet schools that are interested in Career and Technical Education (CTE), Science Technology Engineering Art and Math (STEAM) and bicycles.
If you are involved with or know a great high school, we would love to have an introduction.

A major part of Project Bike Tech's values is to be a part of and foster strong cycling and education communities.
Introduce us to your local community stakeholders--other local non profits, interested businesses and government agencies, cycling clubs and community organizers.
